HOW TO PREPARE FOR CEREMONY
Depending on what type of Sacred Medicine you are wanting to sit with, there are different protocols to follow.
Preparatory Guidelines
This is a simple outline of practical preparatory steps, please talk to us to understand further in-depth preparatory guidelines after you have completed the Intake Form.
Ayahuasca Ceremony
6+ Hours Fasting
It is best to abstain from eating anything for 6 or more hours prior to an Ayahuasca Ceremony.
There are very specific dietary guidelines prior to ceremony, please refer to the Dietary Protocols page for an in-depth explanation.
Certain teas are okay in the hours leading up to ceremony, provided that they are not contraindicative with Ayahuasca. Please take a look at the list of herbal products that must also be discontinued prior to ceremony in the Contraindications page.
Other Substances
Ayahuasca can be contraindicative with other substances and it is imperative for you to disclose each one and the amounts that you are taking in the intake form so that they can be considered.

Bufo Ceremony
2 Hours Fasting
It is best to fast for 2 or more hours (at your discretion) before your Bufo Ceremony.
With Bufo, it is not necessary to drastically alter your diet, in fact - no change is necessary. However, if you are feeling very called to alter your diet as your offering to Spirit, by all means - feel free.
Other Substances
When it comes to medications you are taking, please clearly state the name and amount of each in the intake form.
Bufo, like Ayahuasca, can be contraindicative with other substances and it is important for us to consider each one individually to ensure your utmost safety and enjoyment.

Kambo Ceremony
12 Hours Fasting
You are required to fast from all types of food and most liquids for 12 hours before your Kambo Ceremony.
Please abstain from all caffeinated beverages, juices, smoothies, etc.
Essentially, it is easiest if you sit with Kambo in the morning, that way you can have dinner before 8pm and most of the 12 hours will elapse while you sleep.
You are more than welcome to drink water to quench your thirst throughout the fasting period. Do not drink copious amounts of water 'to prepare' - you will be instructed to drink water when your ceremony begins.
Other Substances
If you are on any medications or other substances please talk to us about each one directly (also mark this in the intake form) as they may require specific instructions.
Abstain from alcohol for a minimum of 3-7 days for best results. Under certain circumstances we may make exceptions to this time frame, the bare minimum amount of time between your last drink and Kambo is approximately 48-24hrs. Please understand that the liver load in these instances will be increased.
